Justiça decreta prisão preventiva de acusados por agressão a capivara na Ilha
A Justiça do Rio de Janeiro decidiu, nesta segunda-feira (23), converter em prisão preventiva a detenção dos acusados de agredir uma capivara no bairro Jardim Guanabara, na Ilha do Governador. Ao todo, seis adultos e dois adolescentes foram flagrados atacando o animal com barras de ferro e pedaços de madeira, causando ferimentos graves.
Na decisão, o juiz da Central de Audiência de Custódia de Benfica destacou a brutalidade da ação e os métodos utilizados pelos envolvidos.
“A gravidade do delito evidencia a necessidade da prisão cautelar para garantir a ordem pública. As imagens amplamente divulgadas pela mídia e nas redes sociais expõem a extrema crueldade do crime”, afirmou o magistrado, Rafael Rezende, ao determinar a conversão da prisão em flagrante para preventiva.
Durante a audiência, também foram negados os pedidos de liberdade provisória apresentados pelas defesas, mesmo com a alegação de que os acusados possuem residência fixa e são réus primários.
Segundo o Centro de Reabilitação de Animais Silvestres (Cras), da Universidade Estácio de Sá, a capivara apresentou melhora no estado de saúde e já conseguiu se levantar.
